Join Us to Make an Impact
Grow Remote began in 2018 as a volunteer-run WhatsApp group. Doesn’t sound so fancy, right? But these humble beginnings stemmed from a bold idea: remove location as a barrier to employment and make remote jobs visible and accessible – even in Ireland’s rural and regional towns.
Since then, Grow Remote has helped 165 companies transition to remote employment, enabling distributed work to support people, profit, and planet.
We are enterprise-led so our Employer Partnerships Programme is at the heart of everything we do to help Ireland thrive in the future of work. Over the years, our greatest strength has been the opportunities for partnership, learning and engagement with a curated network of leading remote employers including Shopify, HubSpot, Automattic, Axonista, and Otonomee. The Employer Partnerships Programme has enabled us to achieve fantastic things. For example, eBay has been a partner and supporter of Grow Remote since 2019, playing a key role in developing and strengthening Ireland’s remote work ecosystem. In that way, we’ve partnered with eBay in multiple, impactful ways.
But since September 2022, we’ve supported their Stepping Stone program, which is designed to serve as an integration opportunity for individuals with refugee status, who have the right to work in Ireland. We’ve trained 36 individuals as part of the programme, both Stepping Stone participants and general staff in order to help participants acclimate and integrate with not only distributed work, but with employees at large.
We’re just about to work with another eBay group of 20 learners in our Thriving Remotely (formerly Transition to Remote) training programme, our fully-funded offering to develop the skills required to work productively from home or anywhere else next month. Meet Ann-Marie Keane, Head of Global Social & Stepping Stone along with Clement Banda and Rumbidzai Makoni, two of our Thriving Remotely graduates and current full-time eBay employees below.
Through the years, we’re delighted to have launched various high-impact programmes:
- We spotlight remote-first employers in national media and have invited CEOs (like Finn Hegarty from Glofox) into the Oireachtas to have a direct influence on government policy
- The Remote Alliance, launched in 2021, brought together Vodafone, ESB, eBay, and Liberty Insurance (now RedClick) under Grow Remote’s facilitation. This forum shared best practices, developed playbooks, and committed to long-term remote-first strategies
- Through Grow Remote’s Employer Services programme, Grow Remote has directly supported Zazzle, WP Engine, and Otonomee to hire 150+ roles in Ireland and Portugal
- We launched Ireland’s first-ever National Remote Work Summit, facilitating the coming together of 600+ global thought leaders in the remote working space, policy makers, business leaders and decision makers. Our 2023 event received widespread regional, national, and international media coverage.
- We’ve worked with numerous employers to create unique, bespoke events for their employees’ social connection efforts like Padel Tennis for ResultsCX in Cork and a cultural tour for eBay in Dundalk.
Joining the Employer Partnerships Programme raises your profile among remote-first employers and positions you as a forward-thinking, flexible workplace in global hiring networks. It helps you access a collaborative peer network to learn what works, avoid friction points, and co-create remote work frameworks that endure.
Grow Remote’s Employer Partnerships Programme is more than a collaboration model; it’s a catalyst for transformation. By joining, your organisation can:
