Finding a job can be tough, we’re here to help!

Grow Remote supports people in a number of ways in the remote job hunt.

For our community in Ireland, you can find our jobs board here and a fully funded training course (for job seekers) here called Remote Work Ready.

We host a monthly meetup online called the Grow Remote Jobs Club, sign up for the newsletter below to receive invites to the events.

We also have a channel in our Slack community dedicated to the jobs club where you can ask questions, find resources, and speak to others on the remote job hunt.

To join our Slack* click this link, this is a network of professionals who are happy to help each other (but it’s important to show that you’re putting in the effort too).

*Slack is a communication platform, it’s free to sign up and you can use it on your computer or mobile device.  Don’t worry, we were all a bit lost when we started using it first.  In the Grow Remote community there is no such thing as a silly question, ask for help and educate yourself.  Here’s a great intro video to Slack.

A Free Mini-Course for your job hunt

Find a job is challenging enough, and there are so many steps to take for success.  Technology is changing and if you really want to get the great job you’d love, it will require effort (you are so worth it!).

They do say finding a job is a job in itself (and for a good reason, there is lots involved).

We have gone through the process and laid out the steps needed in finding and applying for an online job.  While this might not be the most comprehensive course covering the online job application process, it does have lots of really useful information and saves you having to figure out it all by yourself.

But there is a catch, we want to you let us know how you are getting on, come and get involved in the conversation in the #Grow-Remote-Jobs-Club channel in our Slack, share what you’ve learned or figured out, help others as others help you.

Good luck and see you on the path!

In the first event of 2021 we look to a New Year and new skills and knowledge.

At this event we will hear from:

  • Richard Muggeridge, of PeopleFlow, will give us an overview of how global hiring works and how a company based around the globe can hire someone from Ireland
  • Mick Mahady of Buffer will inspire us with his story of his career path to remote working, and what he learned along the way

Some feedback from the community

learner testimonial - Remote working was always a sugary dream I thought would never happen. This week I received a job offer to work remotely. In these times finding employment is competitive. The certification program and ongoing support provided by LOETB and Grow Remote was the icing on the cake which helped me secure this role." Ann Iordan Remote Work Ready 2020
learner testimonial for Remote work ready - With the workshops delivered online you get the chance to practice what you learn on a weekly basis by connecting with each other though remote work enabling tools such as Zoom and Slack in a safe environment. - Graham Harron Remote Work Ready 2020

Remote Working
we make remote work local - We’re a bunch of people who believe remote work is a powerful tool for community development. We’re interested in sustainable communities and permanent (employed) remote work. (image of woman sitting on high stool with laptop, group of people to other side)
