How teams evolve and what it takes to build and lead high-performing distributed teams. You’ll examine the dynamics of remote and hybrid work and the foundations of effective leadership in these environments.
Mastering clear, timely and human communication — wherever your team is working from. Covers async and sync communication, documentation practices, and reducing miscommunication across distributed teams.
Setting clear expectations and supporting your team to achieve them without micromanaging. Covers goal-setting frameworks, feedback conversations, and how to manage underperformance when you can’t see your team every day.
Using AI responsibly and strategically to enhance — not replace — your team’s productivity. Practical introduction to AI tools relevant to remote team management and how to lead your team through the AI transition confidently.
Proactively supporting mental health and connection, even when working apart. Covers how to spot early signs of burnout and isolation, create psychological safety remotely, and build a culture of genuine care across distance.
Shaping the culture you want and embedding it into daily interactions. How to build belonging and shared identity across a distributed team, and how to prevent the two-tier cultures that develop in poorly managed hybrid environments.
Practical ways to uncover development needs and build a culture of ownership. Learn how to run meaningful 1:1s remotely, identify growth opportunities across a distributed team, and support people to take ownership of their own development.

Approximately 3 hours per week — a 1 to 1.5 hour live facilitated session plus 1 to 1.5 hours of self-paced eLearning. Sessions run at the same day and time each week for 8 weeks.
Participants must attend at least 80% of live sessions — 6 out of 8 — to receive their digital badge and certificate of completion.

You must be currently employed and hold a PPS number. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
A reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (laptop preferred), and access to a video conferencing tool. All course materials are provided online.
