We are a social enterprise on a mission to make good quality job opportunities available to everyone, regardless of their location. Our mission is to make remote work accessible for everyone and create lasting social impact globally.
Grow Remote was built by many hands since those first meetups in 2018. That’s what we mean when we talk about our Meitheal.
In 2019, we raised government funding so that we could dedicate a full-time team to continuing the good work of our grassroots community.

John Evoy - General Manager
John was most recently a Senior Fund Manager at Rethink Ireland. Prior to this he was the founder of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association. John has won a number of awards for his work with Men’s Sheds, and for his previous work in community development and social entrepreneurship, including an Irish People of the Year Award in 2015. John lives on a farm in Wexford with his wife Sarah and a fluffy cat.
Cait McConn - Operations Manager
Cait is in charge of Operations at Grow Remote. Before joining the team, Cait set up and ran her own award-winning business for a decade. Cait has worked in community and business development for almost 15 years, actively promoting the economic and social development of her community with the aim of creating a better place in which to live, work and do business. She has an educational background in Business, Finance and Executive Coaching, she was President of Roscommon Chamber of Commerce and sat as a board member of Roscommon Local Enterprise Office. Cait lives in Roscommon town with her husband Eoin.
Joanne Mangan-Communications Manager
Joanne engages with employers at every stage of their remote working journey. She manages our partnerships with Ireland’s leading remote-first organisations and helps employers who want to make the transition to remote. She is a regular media contributor on the topic of remote working and is passionate about the potential of remote work as a driver of equality, diversity and inclusion. Prior to joining the Grow Remote team she worked for a number of multinational technology companies, managing distributed teams and enabling channel partners.
Erica Hearne - Employer Relationships Lead
Erica works on our Employers team managing relationships with our remote-first employers. Prior to joining the Grow Remote team, she worked for various American media conglomerates, digital marketing agencies, and Irish radio stations, always in client-facing roles. Passionate about driving societal change, for women and mothers in particular, through community-led projects, she’s worked with Project Medishare on the ground in Haiti and built community housing in Grenada. She previously founded and led the Dungarvan Chapter of MumTribe Ireland.
Eoin Byrne - Training Manager
Eoin is our Training Manager. Before joining Grow Remote, Eoin was a researcher and lecturer at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he was awarded his PhD in Irish Studies in 2020. He is the recipient of several prestigious research funding fellowships and has been invited to speak in several countries across Europe and North America. He has extensive experience in designing and delivering courses at third level and for adult education, both online and in person, and in multilingual contexts.
Laura Tighe - Learner Experience Lead
Laura is part of our Training team, working on creating a great learner experience and successful outcomes for people looking to break into and thrive in a remote working environment. She is experienced in creating impactful, skills-orientated learning across a range of industries. She has 10 years’ experience working in various education settings and with both face-to-face and online learning. She is a big believer in lifelong learning and that it is never too late to develop new skills.
Victoria McCormack - Community Outreach Lead
Victoria has worked remotely for over a decade in some of the world’s leading tech companies, including Apple and Shopify. But what truly sets her apart is her unwavering passion for fostering meaningful connections and building vibrant communities among remote workers. Victoria has always gone above and beyond to create events that not only allowed employees to give back to their local communities and charities but also facilitated networking opportunities both in-office and virtually. When Victoria is not supporting the Grow Remote community or running her consultancy business, she uses her creative and adventurous spirit to convert vans into campers – she even travelled to 17 countries in a 1990 Fiat Ducato campervan!
Graham Harron - Data and Impact Lead
Graham leads on providing high-quality remote resources for our online community. After living and working away from home for +15 years, he relocated to rural Ireland and swapped a Central European downtown lifestyle and a multinational environment for the Wild Atlantic Way! As one of our first “Remote Work Ready” course graduates and a community member thereafter – combined with his previous experience of working in a distributed team, he is passionate about the social impact that remote work can have.
Dónal Kearney - Community Manager
Dónal brings an eclectic background to his work supporting the Grow Remote community, combining a diverse skillset in group facilitation, grassroots community development and creative leadership. He has held positions with the United Nations in Geneva and human rights NGOs in Ireland, the UK and Bolivia. He is co-founder of his own non-profit and has toured and recorded as a professional artist through Japan, China, Europe and North America. A vocal advocate for social inclusion and access to culture, Dónal loves bringing people together offline and strives every day for local impact. He is passionate about promoting wellness and productivity among fellow remote workers, so if you’d like to find out more about the Grow Remote community, reach out to Dónal.

The Board Of Directors
John Riordan
John is Chairman of Grow Remote. He recently retired as Director of Support for Shopify. He also served as Chairman of Shopify International Ltd. and also serves on the board of Sanctuary Runners, the IRFU Commercial & Marketing committee and a number of technology start-ups. John led a variety of different customer support teams for Shopify, including groups in Ireland, Lithuania, Sweden, Canada as well as the Philippines, Japan and China. Most of John’s teams worked from home, a business model he has been an evangelist for over the last 20 years in the US, UK and Ireland. John spent much of his career in the US – working for Apple, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Arise Virtual Solutions and US Airways. In 2010 John and his family returned to his hometown of Cork, Ireland where he now resides with his wife and family.
Tracy Keogh
Tracy is a co-founder of Grow Remote and a recognised international leader in the world of remote. Having 10+ years experience in technology startups, Tracy spent the last few years in community development in regional and rural Ireland. A graduate of economics and finance from the University of Limerick, Tracy formerly worked for Bank of Ireland having set up their innovation programmes in the west.
Siobhán Curtin
Siobhán Curtin is Site Lead for eBay Ireland and a pioneer in remote working with extensive leadership experience.
Long before the pandemic brought remote working into the mainstream, Siobhán and eBay Ireland were amongst the first adopters of this new innovative workstyle. In 2017 she was instrumental in positioning eBay as a leader in the remote working space, recognising the potential to drive positive social change. She was the lead on the “eBay@Home” programme, which enabled eBay to hire staff from across Ireland, bringing new job opportunities to people living in local communities. Under her leadership, eBay Ireland was the first eBay team globally to embrace remote working, resulting in remote working being rolled out across other eBay markets around the world.
eBay has been a partner and supporter of Grow Remote since 2019, playing a key role in developing and strengthening Ireland’s remote work ecosystem.
Tomás Ó Síocháin
Tomás Ó Síocháin is Príomhfheidhmeannach | CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta and formerly CEO of the Western Development Commission. Prior to that he held a number of senior roles in Ollscoil na hÉireann | University of Galway and was a broadcast journalist, producer and editor with Irish national broadcasters RTÉ and TG4 between 1998 and 2013. A law graduate, he holds an MBA, a Higher Diploma in Applied Communications and is a non-executive director of Grow Remote, Future Mobility Campus Ireland and Galway Culture Company.
He is Chair of the Advisory Board for the University of Galway Cairnes School of Business and Economics, a member of the National Hubs Network Steering Group and the National Remote Work Strategy Implementation Group. Formerly, he was the inaugural Chair of the Regional Skills Forum West, Chair of the WDC Whitaker Institute Remote Work Expert Group and an External Assessor for the Broadcast Authority of Ireland’s Sound and Vision Fund.
Laura Hanlon
Laura Hanlon is a Product Offer Manager for Dell. She is a co-founder of Grow Remote from its initial formation in 2018 and passionate about helping people to achieve their career goals from any location. Laura previously worked in community at Techstars Startup Weekend as well as founding her own company in Galway city.
Laura is currently studying an MSc in Electronic and Computer Technology from DCU and a previous graduate of Sports and Exercise Engineering from NUI Galway.
